ITAI continues his Unfinished Project with an upbeat organic house track called “Hafla in Wancy's World.”

The release comes via ITAI’s record label The Teddy Bear Lounge, but his music has also been released on other respected imprints ranging from The Soul Brothers' Talavera Records to Laroz's Camel Riders.

This release is the 8th instalment of the Unfinished Project where each track is a chapter of an overarching storyline, which will culminate in all the tracks being combined into an album.

Based in America, ITAI is a jazz musician and saxophone player who has focused his musicianship towards electronic music production. He is a talented live performer whose shows use a loop sampler to generate spontaneous tracks that utilise live piano and saxophone melodies, which are mixed with synths and sequenced percussion from a drum machine.

Not only has ITAI travelled the world to play solo live shows, but he has also done collaborative performances with others such as BLOND:ISH.

All of the tracks on the Unfinished Project have a strong concept behind them, and “Hafla in Wancy's World” is influenced by the Hafla parties that are traditional to Arab culture.

Hafla’s are deeply rooted in Moroccan and Middle Eastern heritage where friends and family will often gather in a backyard to sing songs and play instruments together. They started many years ago when some TV and radio restricted the music they would play, which led to people from these repressed parts of the world creating their own music.

Wancy is the name of ITAI’s girlfriend whose vibrant nature and lively personality is well suited to the upbeat energy and welcoming atmosphere of a Hafla party. So, the track is dedicated to her, as she is someone who loves Hafla’s and similar gatherings of friends and family.

“Hafla in Wancy's World” opens with Arabic clarinet melodies as the hypnotic bass synth fills the groove with upbeat energy. Poignant piano chords provide deep emotion while trippy acid synths and psychedelic textures create a mesmerising atmosphere. Accordions, claps and upbeat percussion fill the groove with a joyous party vibe.
